On Thursday 4th October Chairman Deryll David, Vice-Chairman Bruno Gaisie, and East-Midlands Representative Seth Galia attended Northampton Referees Association’s October meeting on behalf of the RA-FA Youth Council. In this meeting a presentation of who and what the RA-FA Youth-Council are, and what we do to help Local RAs.
Northampton RA decided to join The RA again after a brief period out, it was clear that the togetherness of the RA brought them back to The RA, both North Hants RA and The National RA have the same ambition, supporting referees with top quality training and development. From FA Core Regional Leader Chris Knowles to Premier League Assistant Peter Kirkup and even newly appointed Cambridge FA RDO, Sam Anderson in attendance, it’s clear there is a lot of knowledge in this RA.
We discussed the Referee Development Fund and how Local RAs can apply for this to aid any projects/ideas they may have. This opens on October 15th and we have every intention of supporting Northampton as a CFA, LRA and area develop their referees with funding to improve their already top quality refereeing events.
We also spoke about our RA-FA Development Programme, and how RA members can attend this to aid their development days and network with colleagues up and down the country as to good practice, different ideas and a general relaxed and enjoyable catch up day, these events such as RA-FA National Development Day, and the RA Development Weekend are the perfect platform to give referees the platform to improve their skills in any pace they want.
We would like to thank Northampton RA for the invitation to their monthly meeting, and we look forward to working with them during the course of the season, and hope to see them soon.
